Ahead of CES 2016 earlier this month, OPPO announced that they would be launching a new series of smartphones, the F series to be exact. The first of the lineup would be the OPPO F1, which according to OPPO at that time, would be a photography-centric device, but unfortunately at that time, specs of the phone were not revealed.
However it looks like we won’t have to wonder anymore because the OPPO F1 has been officially announced, and indeed it does sound like OPPO might have paid a fair amount of attention to the camera on the phone. It will feature a 13MP rear-facing camera with an aperture of f/2.2, but it’s the front camera that truly shines with an 8MP 1/4-inch sensor with an aperture of f/2.0.
OPPO is also claiming that the display of the phone can be illuminated bright enough where even if it is dark, it will be able to light up the face of your subject(s). Other specs of the OPPO F1 includes a 5-inch HD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, and 3GB of RAM accompanying it.
It also come with 16GB of storage and a 2,500mAh battery, with ColorOS 2.1 running on top of it, which is basically Android 5.1 Lollipop. The phone also features an aluminum build. The phone has been launched in India where it will be priced at Rs. 15,990. No word on whether it will arrive stateside, but so far we haven’t really seen OPPO’s phones in the US so that does seem a bit unlikely.
