OnePlus confirmed a few months ago that it’s going to update all of its smartphones, the OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X, to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in 2016. The company hasn’t said so far when this update is going to be released but it has been teasing it through social media, particularly in China. Today OnePlus has said that it’s now beta testing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for all of its smartphones.

OnePlus is seeking beta testers from the public to try out the beta build of Marshmallow prior to its public release, however since the test build is only being provided for the OnePlus 2, owning that handset is a must before one can even think about taking part in this program.

The company’s ideal beta tester also has to be willing to flash new updates, at least, two times per week, submit bug reports, be online for at least 30 hours per week, provide timely feedback and having previous experience with beta testing would work to their advantage.

Given that the beta test announcement was made via Weibo it appears that this program is limited to users in China only, at least for now, OnePlus hasn’t confirmed as yet if it’s going to allow users in other markets to participate in its Marshmallow beta update program as well.
