Oculus’ Quill Lets One Create Art In Virtual Reality

Oculus Quill VR Painting Tool
The world of art is an extremely flexible one – there are many ways and methods of expression, not to mention showcase art. It is a subject that is alive, and hence the Facebook-owned Oculus feels that there is much which can be explored in the world of art thanks to their new internal creation tool known as Quill. Quill will allow illustrators to draw in virtual reality using hardware providede by Oculus, and this will see audiences watch such creations come to life with every single stroke by stroke in real time. Talk about a fully participative audience!

Just in case you were wondering, Quill functions in pretty much the same manner as that of Tilt Brush, the VR painting app that Google owns. Oculus’ Touch controllers and motion cameras will see action here, where Quill users pick from a selection of brushes and colors, before they swing their hands through the air – and each move will appear on the corresponding 3D canvas. So far, Oculus has not yet decided to make Quill available to the masses in the same manner of Tilt Brush, but rather, would prefer to let its own illustrators enjoy it at the moment.

It would be interesting to see how bona fide artists interpret their artwork in the future should the Quill end up accessible to everyone.
