Come 18th of March, fans of Daredevil will be pleased to learn that Season 2 will be available for watching. For those unfamiliar, Season 2 of Daredevil will introduce some pretty exciting characters, such as Elektra and the Punisher, the latter of whom has had two movies made about the character to date, although it seems that neither were good enough to warrant a sequel.
That being said, the good news is that there could be a Netflix series made about the character instead, according to a report from TVLine who claims to have heard that Netflix is close to signing a deal that will see the series be made. Apparently Netflix was so pleased with Jon Bernthal’s take on the Punisher in Daredevil Season 2 that they think the character warrants his own show.
Now prior to this, there have been rumors that Netflix was considering a standalone Punisher series, a series that could potentially replace Iron Fist, another upcoming Marvel series. However Iron Fist has already begun the casting process, so essentially it looks like there will be a fourth Marvel TV series made on Netflix if the rumors are true.
We have to admit that the Punisher would make a pretty compelling series given the story of the character, but until we hear from Netflix officially, take it with a grain of salt and try not to get your hopes up just yet. In the meantime, Jessica Jones has also been confirmed for a second season.
