Is vinyl making a comeback? While many of us might have snubbed the format back in the day when the CD was king, it seems that these days with more things moving to digital, perhaps we are still trying to hold onto things from the past and vinyl is one of them. In fact if anything, companies like Sony and Technics are bringing vinyl back with the launch of turntables.
Now if you’re looking for records to play with your turntables, there are plenty of options to choose from, but if you coincidentally enough also enjoy the mobile game Monument Valley, you might be interested to learn that the game’s soundtrack will soon be released on vinyl, in which the double LP will set you back $40 where you will get not only the soundtrack, but the digital soundtrack, along with new artwork.
For those who have never played the game before, it is a puzzle game in which you rotate the world and buildings to help create a path for the game’s main character. Its graphics are excellent, gameplay is top-notch, and let’s not forget its soothing soundtrack that lets us dive into the game even further.
Monument Valley isn’t the first game to have its soundtrack released in vinyl. Prior to this, we’ve seen vinyl releases for games like Assassin’s Creed, PlayStation-exclusive Journey, The Last of Us, and Grand Theft Auto. The soundtrack is expected to be available for pre-order on the 27th of January with an estimated ship date for Q2 2016, so head on over to its website if you want to pre-order it.
