[CES 2016] Misfit has decided to use CES 2016 as the platform for announcements, and they certainly are going all out with their new Misfit Ray Fitness and Sleep Monitor. The Misfit Ray is the latest device from their collection of design-forward wearables, where the Ray’s distinct deconstructed and modular design would also ensure that it has a place in the pantheon of most versatile activity tracker to date under the Misfit label.
Just how versatile can the Misfit Ray be, you ask? For starters, it measures a mere 12mm in diameter and 38mm long, which would exhibit Ray’s sleek form factor as well as clean lines to make it uniquely wearable. Not only that, Ray also boasts of a highly customizable cylindrical aluminum body, allowing you to wear it with Misfit-branded or custom accessories on the wrist or as a necklace. Ray will do its bit to complement watches, bracelets, and fine jewelry, where its elemental, interchangeable design would make it easy to personalize. Depending on the wearer and situation, Ray can be elegant or sporty, sensual or bold, striking or subtle.
The minimalist form hides some pretty cool engineering underneath the hood as it tracks activity and sleep thanks to a 3-axis accelerometer while incorporating a vibration motor that enables nuanced user feedback. Merging that with a single multicolor LED eye, Ray delivers inactivity nudges, text and call notifications, and a silent alarm. There is no need for charging since the user-replaceable batteries last up to 6 months and it will be water resistant to 50 meters. The Misfit Ray arrives in Rose Gold and Carbon Black shades, where you can place a $99.99 pre-order now before it ships worldwide this spring.
