Minecraft never really had a story mode until Telltale stepped into the picture. It was confirmed last year that Telltale is going to develop an episodic adaptation of one of the most popular games on the planet and Minecraft: Story Mode arrived on major gaming platforms last autumn. It has been confirmed today that Minecraft: Story Mode will now be making its way to Nintendo Wii U in the near future.
Minecraft: Story Mode is actually the first game that Telltale has released for Nintendo’s existing home console. It includes several features that are specific to this console such as off-TV play using the GamePad and the ability to use touchscreen controls to play missions throughout the story.
The first episode, called “The Order of the Stone”, is going to be launched on January 21st for $4.99. Players will be able to purchase a Season Pass as well to get access to subsequent episodes.
Nintendo Wii U owners have certainly had to wait for this title to arrive, it was initially launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and Telltale took its time to get it ready for Nintendo’s console. Now that it has, Wii U owners can look forward to playing Minecraft: Story Mode on their console of choice.
