When you are disabled, there are certain things that are harder for you to do that people with full use of their limbs will probably not think too much about. One of those tasks would be to shovel snow off your driveway, which anyone with a working pair of hands and legs can do in a matter of minutes.
However for 30-year Tim Taylor, things are different when you are in a wheelchair, so much so that he has decided to do something about it by turning his 4×4 wheelchair into a snow plow. Taylor’s idea was actually inspired by another man’s video he saw on YouTube, but in his case he decided to take the design and improve upon it.
Speaking to The Huffington Post, Taylor says, “Living here we get quite a bit of snow. I recently got a 4×4 wheelchair and was inspired to build a plow for it after seeing a YouTube video where an older gentleman had done something similar.” Thanks to his direction and the help from his father and brothers, they managed to fashion an early prototype.
He claims that while it works, there are still some issues that needs ironing out. In the meantime you can check out his wheelchair snow plow in the video above, which surprisingly enough seems to be pretty effective at getting the job done.
