According to a report from The Verge, they have heard from their sources that the design of the LG G5 will look nothing like its predecessors, the LG G3 and G4. There was nothing wrong with either phone’s design, but we guess having something new and exciting to talk about is always welcome.
The report goes on to claim that the phone will come with a new accessory slot on the bottom. We’re not sure what that means, but previously we did report on a rumor from CNET Korea that the phone could sport some kind of slide out battery mechanism. We’re not sure how this will play out in the final design, but apparently this will be one of its selling points.
Other rumored design changes include the relocation of the volume buttons from the back of the phone to the sides, which we have noticed in the renders and leaked redesigns. Apparently this is to allow LG to incorporate a second rear-facing camera. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but LG did confirm its presence at MWC 2016 next month, so there is a good chance we will find out more then.
