LG G3 Vulnerability Patched

Phew! It certainly did not take too long after all for South Korean conglomerate LG to act, as we reported slightly more than 24 hours ago that the LG G3 (the company’s older flagship device) carried a security vulnerability which could enable those with a malicious intention to run phishing scams, access your private data and even causing the handset to crash. Word has it that LG has issued a patch for the LG G3 in order to address that very security vulnerability.

Researchers over at Cynet and BugSec were the ones behind this rather severe vulnerability, which was found in the ‘Smart Notice’ app that arrives pre-installed on the LG G3. Well, now that LG has already issued the patch, all you owners of the LG G3 might want to make a beeline for this patch so that you do not end up being a victim of a phishing scam where your smartphone is concerned, and then some. Not only that, if you just crawled out from a cave somewhere, also take note that LG is kind enough to have started to introduce an update which will ensure you are rocking to Android 6.0, Marshmallow rather than Lollipop.

This is one particular case where delaying the patch application is not encouraged for obvious reasons. You can access the update by navigating to Apps -> Update Center -> App Updates, and it should be found.
