However interestingly enough, a report from the Telegraph has revealed that Apple has a new app in the works, and this time this particular tool will apparently facilitate the transfer of iOS data over on to Android. Essentially this is an opposite to what Apple’s Android app does. Does that sound weird? Why would Apple want that, you ask?
Turns out this might have to do with legal issues rather than an altruistic move. Apparently EU carriers are concerned that by making it hard to leave the iOS ecosystem, fewer users are willing to switch to an alternative platform, such as Android, and are forced to keep using iOS because of that.
While Apple has yet to officially launch such an app, the report claims that Apple has privately agreed to do so, presumably to avoid any anticompetitive complaints or lawsuits. In any case if iOS users really wanted to switch over to Android and vice versa, we reckon that app or no app it will still happen.
