Basically what he has found is a string which reads, “Headphones.have.%sinput.NO.”. This was discovered in the latest beta for iOS 9.3. So what does this mean to non-programmers? From what has been suggested, it seems that this line could be used as a check to see if external speakers are connected or disconnected from the device, although with the rumors of Apple losing the headphone port, some seem to think that this line of code “confirms” it.
Of course this is just speculation for now and the code could be a lot more innocent than we think. That being said, aside from this discovery, digging into iOS 9.3 has also revealed the potential that future iPhones could support Li-Fi technology, which means faster wireless transfer speeds that are said to be 100x faster than WiFi.
Whether or not this makes it into the iPhone 7 remains to be seen, but like we said it’s just speculation so try not to read too much into it for now.
