Guns that only work when it senses its owner is near or if it is fingerprint activated aren’t new. We have heard of and see such devices, but the down is that sometimes these guns are the guns that you want to shoot with. While there’s nothing wrong with those guns, we’re sure that there are gun owners out there who might have a favorite piece that they enjoy shooting with.
If you think that describes you or someone you know, and you’re looking for a way to keep your guns safe, you might be interested in a device called the Identilock. Basically this is a lock that you can place on your existing guns, as you can see in the photo above. This lock will cover both the trigger and trigger guard completely, and will only unlock if it detects your fingerprints.
Now you might be thinking that this is a huge and looks highly inconvenient, and we suppose it is. It will, however, fall away from you when it detects your fingerprint, so you don’t have to worry about it getting in your way. The only downside is that you have to remember to lock your gun again afterwards, but we suppose this is a small inconvenience to pay to protect your favorite firearm.
It comes with adapters to fit your gun and it also sports a battery life that is good for 6 months and can be recharged via microUSB. Alternatively it can also be unlocked with a key if the battery does fail. Obviously it wasn’t designed to be fit in a conventional holster, but if you keep your guns at home just for self-defense purposes, then we suppose it will be fine.
