That being said, it looks like Haier is back at CES 2016 and they have brought along a new tablet. This tablet is of the 9.7-inch variety and it runs on Android. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core 1.8GHz chipset with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, microSD card slot for memory expansion, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, a 7,800mAh battery, and a display resolution of 2048×1536.
All of this sounds pretty decent, right? Like it could pass off as a mid-range tablet. However oddly enough for its operating system of choice, instead of opting for the newer Android 6.0 Marshmallow or at least Android 5.1 Lollipop, Haier has decided to install Android 4.4 KitKat. We’re not sure why, but safe to say that Android 4.4 is pretty outdated compared to what is being offered now.
Unfortunately we’re not sure if Haier plans on replacing it with a newer build of Android upon its release, but for now if you are planning on getting the device, you might have to flash some kind of custom ROM for a more updated version of Android.
