Live streaming apps like Periscope have turned out to be very popular over the past year. Users can live stream whatever they want whenever they want to their followers, and now they have the ability to do this using their GoPro action cameras. Periscope today announced that it’s integrating with GoPro to allow its users to broadcast live from these popular action cameras.
Periscope users will be able to broadcast from their GoPro HERO 4 directly to Periscope for iPhone. All they need to do is connect to their GoPro’s Wi-Fi and make sure that it’s in video mode. Then they just need to open the iOS app and tap on the broadcast button. The app will automatically highlight the GoPro button, all that’s left to do is give the broadcast a title and go live.
Once the broadcast is live switching between the GoPro and iPhone camera is just a matter of a double tap. The app also features a new button that locks the phone screen making sure that there are no accidental taps when the iPhone is in the user’s pocket as they broadcast using their action camera.
In case you are still wondering, yes the ability has not been added to the Android app, but for all we know this may be rectified at some point in the future. For now, only iPhone users can broadcast to Periscope using their GoPro HERO 4.
