One of Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s deputies, Clay Bavor, has been targeted to be the person to head the division, but apart from that, the folks over at Google have decided to remain mum on the situation. Just a quick take on Clay Bavor – he is the vice president for product management, and has the experience of running Google apps in the vein of Gmail and Drive. Moving over to head the virtual reality division, all responsibility for apps will be transferred over to the shoulders of a very capable Diane Greene, who is an enterprise software veteran and Google board member with Google’s cloud computing business under her portfolio at the moment.
It would be interesting to see just how far Google is going to bring the field of VR in the future with this division.
