Have you ever wondered what it might be like to take a tour of the Buckingham Palace? To find that out, you will need to travel to the UK. You could look at photos, but honestly that’s not quite the same, so is there a happy middle? The good news is that there is, and this is thanks to Google.
The company has recently released a virtual reality video in which you can take a virtual reality tour of Buckingham Palace, all from the comfort of your own home and at your own leisure. The video has been uploaded onto YouTube (see above) so it’s probably best to view it on your mobile device.
It will also work a lot better if you have some kind of virtual reality headset like the Google Cardboard or Samsung Gear VR. According to According to Google’s Programme Manager, Jennifer Holland, “Buckingham Palace was the number one spot that kids around the world wanted to see. The palace is not just an historic residence, there is something quite mystical and majestic about it as the Queen lives there and it is a working royal residence. It is of endless fascination.”
No doubt this will be a much better experience if you were to actually head to Buckingham Palace and tour it for yourself, but for those who can’t, we reckon this will be the next best thing.
