Last year we heard the rumors that the Fujifilm X-T2 could be launched in June this year. If you’re wondering how credible that rumor is, the folks at Fuji Rumors have heard from another source, one whom they claimed made accurate predictions in the past, that the June launch is on, so it looks like that’s twice the June rumors have made their rounds.
Of course rumors being rumors, they’re best taken with a grain of salt. That being said, we had also heard another rumor that the X-T2 will only be launched after the X-Pro2. This means that we might also have a possible date for the X-Pro2, which is basically before the middle of 2016. Granted it’s still a rather big and vague timeframe, but one to look forward to if you’re after a new camera.
Unfortunately, at the moment there is not much known about the upcoming X-T2. However given the fact that it will be the successor to the highly praised, but yet highly-underrated Fujifilm X-T1, we can only assume that Fujifilm will have addressed all the niggling concerns that X-T1 owners had with the newer model.
Presumably, we can look forward to even faster autofocus (which one was of the main issues with the X-T1), better video capture (the X-T1 did an OK job, but there are better cameras for video out there), and maybe even let the tilting LCD display flip up 180-degrees. That being said until we hear from Fujifilm, take it with a grain of salt for now.
