While DSLR and mirrorless cameras are great for capturing great quality photos, sometimes they’re not exactly designed to be used in rugged terrain as they might break easily when dropped. Let’s not forget that having a lens attached to the front is also another recipe for disaster especially in such environments.
However if you want to capture photos while out and about during your adventure, Fujifilm has announced the FinePix XP90 camera. As you can see in the photo above, this camera has been designed to take a beating, or, at least, more so than your regular compact. It is waterproof up to 50 feet, shockproof from heights of up to 1.75m, freezeproof up to 14F, and it is also dustproof to top things off.
As for its specs, the FinePix comes with a 16.4MP 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor. It sports a 5x optical zoom 28mm wide-angle lens, a 3-inch LCD display with anti-reflection coating, wireless connectivity for image transfer and remote control, optical image stabilization, Full HD video capture at 60fps, 480fps slow-mo video capture, and it also comes with 11 filters.
In terms of pricing, the Fujifilm FinePix XP90 won’t be breaking the bank. It is priced at $229.95 and will be available starting February.
