In fact a couple of weeks ago, it was announced that iTunes Radio would no longer be free and will be folded into Apple Music. The bad news for iTunes Radio listeners is that it looks like that day is finally here as users of iTunes Radio will now be prompted to sign up for Apple Music if they attempt to access a radio station in the Music app.
This is also the same if they were to try and access iTunes Radio on their Mac, in which they would also be prompted to sign up for Apple Music. This effectively makes iTunes Radio no longer free as it falls under the Apple Music banner, although the upside is that signing with Apple Music will allow users to access more than just radio content.
Apple Music will be free for the first three months anyway, so users will be able to enjoy the service until the end of the three months before deciding if they want to continue.
