As you can see in the screenshots above, the older design is to the left and the newer one is to the right. Right away you’ll notice that the blue bar at the bottom is gone, and the black bar at the top has been changed to grey. The blue bar has been replaced with a blue circular “+” button which is reminiscent of Google’s apps, like Hangouts or Inbox.
The icons at the top have also been changed from a light grey to a darker and more solid-looking grey. The fonts have also increased slightly, but other than that it does not seem like the actual chat conversations itself have changed, at least for now. We should point out that the changes were made server-side.
This means that if you do not see the changes yourself, then chances are it was not changed for you. However if it has changed for you, there is no guarantee that Facebook will be keeping this design, but what do you guys think? Is this a design you might be interested in seeing Facebook make to Messenger?
