Facebook Live Video Now Available To All iPhone Users In The US

fb live videosLast year Facebook launched Live Videos, which back then was a tool that allowed only celebrities and verified public figures to livestream events, kind of like apps such as Meerkat and Twitter’s Periscope. However later in the year, Facebook began to allow more people to use it, and now they are blowing the doors wide open.

In the latest announcement by Facebook, they have announced that they will now be letting everyone in the US access Live Videos. There is a catch and that catch is that users will need to own an iPhone in order to use this feature, which we can only assume will eventually make its way onto Android at a later date.

Facebook also announced that following the launch, they also have plans to bring the feature to the rest of the world in the coming weeks, so if you like the idea of being able to share live video streams, then this feature is definitely worth checking out. The Live Video feature is accessible via the Update Status section of facebook, as you can see in the screenshots above.

You will be able to see the number of live viewers as well as read real-time comments during the broadcast. The video will be saved once you have ended the broadcast, in which you can choose to keep it or delete it.
