iPhone6s-2Up-HeroFish-PR-PRINTOne of the rumored features of the upcoming iPhone 7 is that it could come with noise cancelling headphones bundled with it. This would be an interesting choice and would no doubt set the iPhone apart from the competition in terms of its bundled accessories. It would be a big move and now more evidence has surface to corroborate those claims.

For those unfamiliar, Cirrus Logic is a company who has in the past supplied audio components to Apple. According to a recent earnings call, the company’s CEO Jason Rhode might have alluded that the iPhone 7 could come with noise cancelling headphones inside the box of the device.

According to Rhode who spoke about the company’s noise cancelling technology, “There are definitely people considering putting [it] in box … any time somebody talks about adding content inside a box, inside the box it ships with the phone, you can imagine the agonizing that goes into any additional micro-penny that gets added to the box.”

Based on that statement, it does rule out the possibility that this technology might be aimed at headphone manufacturers. The mention of the phone and the company’s relationship with Apple also cuts down a lot on other possibilities. We could be reading too much into this, but what do you guys think? Does this lend itself to previous reports of the iPhone 7 coming with noise cancelling headphones?
