The iPhone is one iconic device that just about everyone knows, and for many iterations now since the very first model, flipping the iPhone over to its back will reveal the words “Made in China” although it was designed in California, USA. Perhaps this might change down the road if GOP candidate Donald Trump has his way, where his speech at Liberty University today touted that he can pass legislation which will then see Apple manufacture its devices in the United States rather than outside of the country down the road. “Made in USA” might be the new rallying cry, perhaps?
Donald Trump did place plenty of emphasis on outsourcing in his speech apart from his usual abrasive words that he had for other presidential candidates. Trump came about his outsourcing theories that were based on Ford’s intention to relocate its factories to Mexico, and cites that he has plans to introduce a 35% import tax for products assembled or manufactured outside of the US – regardless of what they are. Following that, Trump pointed out Apple, citing that his regime will see Apple “build their damn computers in this country instead of other countries”.
He’ll need to be President first if that were to happen, which means it isn’t likely, is it?
