Talk about taking the road less traveled – Ludivine, a hound who was let out by her owner April Hamlin of Elkmont, Alabama, in order to take a toilet break, decided to get distracted and sneaked out instead. Ludivine then made her way to the Trackless Train Trek Half Marathon which was happening close by, and needless to say, she took part in the whole shebang – all 13.1 miles of it. It seems that the pooch was a natural runner, having completed the half marathon in seventh place, now how about that for a heart-warming story to continue the week?
Hamlin lives on a farm and would normally keep Ludivine within the confines of a playpen or in the house, taking into consideration how she has a tendency to roam and explore. It looks like Ludivine more or less was attracted by the noise of the half marathon that day, and decided to take matters into her own paws and join the rest of the humans in this endurance run. She made her way to the starting line, which meant she began fair and square. As to whether she did not make her way off course, it was because she made her way to a handful of runners who were in the lead. Of course, along the way, she literally took some time off to smell the roses.
Ludivine completed the course at a time of 1 hour, 32 minutes and 56 seconds, picking up a medal for her courage and performance as well.
