[CES 2016] Are you looking for a new laptop for work? Or maybe you’re interested in some kind of laptop/tablet hybrid? If you are, Dell has you covered as the company has recently announced a bunch of new computers that will fall under its Latitude 7000 series of computers.
Starting with the Latitude 12 7000 series 2-in-1, this is, as its name suggests, a hybrid device where it can either double as a laptop or a tablet, depending on your needs or preference. It will feature a 12.5-inch display and will be able to support resolutions as high as QHD, so packing that into a 12.5-inch display will no doubt result in some pretty sharp image quality.
Under the hood, the 12 7000 series 2-in-1 can be configured from a variety of 6th gen Intel Core M processors, and will also support up to 8GB of RAM. It will come with Intel HD Graphics 515, which should let you get some gaming done but don’t expect too much from it. There are also SSD storage options of up to 512GB.
Next up are the E7270 and E7470 models, these are two laptops that come in 12.5-inch and 14-inch sizes respectively. It seems that these devices are aimed at enterprise users who might have the need for increased security. Some of its features include encryption, advanced authentication and malware prevention, thanks to optional add-ons like a fingerprint reader, smart card reader, hardware crypto accelerator, and so on.
In terms of specs, they can be configured to support up to Intel Core i7 6th gen processors, and up to 16GB of RAM. They also can be configured to include touchscreen displays and support a range of resolutions from as low as 1366×768, up to 2560×1440.
However if neither of these options suit you, there is also a Latitude 13 7000 series, which basically comes with a 13.3-inch Full HD or QHD+ display with optional touchscreen display. It will be powered by up to a 6th gen Intel Core M processor, and will feature a carbon fiber or a CNC machined aluminum LCD back.
