[CES 2016] We’re not sure how many of you guys remember back in the day of the good old CRT monitors. They were huge and packed massive bezels which kind of distracted from the content of the screen. However fast forward today, monitors have become increasingly thin, and their bezels have shrunk as well.
Now for those who do prioritize such designs/aesthetics, Dell has recently announced two new monitors in the form of the UltraSharp InfinityEdge monitors. These come in two sizes: 24-inches and 27-inches. For the most part both models are similar-ish, except that when it comes to resolution, the 24-inch maxes out at Full HD, while the 27-inch comes with a QHD resolution.
The thickness of the bezels are also slightly different, with the 24-inch model featuring slightly thinner bezels at 5.3mm for the top, left, and right, and 8.3mm at the bottom. The 27-inch model will feature 7.3mm bezels for the top, left, and right, and 8.3mm at the bottom. However apart from that, both models have a color gamut of 99% sRGB at deltaE<2.
They also come with connectivity options such as HDMI 1.4 (MHL 2.0), DP 1.2, mini-DP 1.2, DP-out, USB 3.0 x 4, and Audio line-out. Both monitors also come with an arm, meaning that they can sit on the edge of your desk without the base taking up unnecessary space. Pricing and availability is unknown for now.
