There will be two routers under the new EXO range, and they are the AC1900 Wi-Fi Router (DIR-879) and the AC1750 Wi-Fi Router (DIR-869). The EXO series have been specially designed to maximize range, while the presence of gigabit ports deliver wired connectivity. In a nutshell, one should be able to experience whole-home coverage – assuming you don’t live in a mansion, that is.
As for the AC1900 router, it will also feature SmartConnect technology that will automatically assign clients to the wireless band providing the best bandwidth. If there is one thing that can be said about the EXO routers, it would be their eye-catching design that is definitely future forward. Apart from that, shared features and capabilities include 11AC Wi-Fi Dual Band connectivity, High Power Amplifiers, Intelligent QoS, Wi-Fi Protected Setup at a push of a button, and Wireless Encryption.
Expect the AC1900 EXO Wi-Fi Router and the AC1750 EXO Wi-Fi Router to retail for $149.99 and $129.99, respectively, as they arrive in the first and second quarters of this year. Why is the AC1750 EXO more affordable? It is basically the same as the AC1900, save for the lack of Smart Connect technology and Advanced AC SmartBeam.
