Over a year ago Chevrolet unveiled the Bolt electric vehicle concept, the idea was to make a compact all-electric car which would be cheap and yet provide a respectable amount of range on a single charge. At CES 2016 the company has unveiled the production version of the 2017 Bolt electric vehicle, it promises a 200-mile range on a full charge at a relatively affordable price.

It’s actually going to be the lowest priced car to offer this much range, that’s until the Tesla Model 3 comes out, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has already said that the Bolt won’t beat his new car on price. We’ll have to wait and see how it does in the range department.

The company hasn’t revealed many details about the 2017 Bolt EV as yet, it’s saving that for the North American International Auto Show, but it does say that the Bolt will feature a 10.2 inch MyLink color touchscreen display, rear facing camera, an all-new mobile app that lets owners check vehicle information and even start it remotely and do much more.

Chevrolet has said that the Bolt is going to enter mass production by the end of 2016, Tesla is on track to unveil the Model 3 in March, and it’s also expected to start delivering the new car to customers in 2017. The Bolt EV will cost $37,500 and that’s excluding federal and state incentives for purchasing an electric vehicle.
