The Canon EOS 1D X MK II has been rumored for quite a while now, ever since 2014 where it was rumored for a launch in 2015, which safe to say did not happen. Last we heard, the camera was also rumored for January 2016, but it seems that will also be unlikely, so when can we expect the camera?
According to Canon Rumors, they have heard that the camera could be announced as early as next month, or maybe even in March. The reason behind this is because of Nikon’s recent announcement in which the company’s flagship camera, the Nikon D5, was officially announced, so obviously Canon will not want to let Nikon gain too much ground.
However in terms of shipping, the rumors claim that the EOS 1D X MK II will be shipped in April, so we guess obviously an announcement will need to be made before then. If the rumored April shipping date is true, Nikon will have about a month on Canon as the Nikon D5 is set for a release in March.
In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but if you’re more of a Canon user then do check back with us in the coming weeks/months for more updates on the device.
