Apple made its entry in the mobile payments space with Apple Pay, the service has been around for a relatively short amount of time, and as the company looks to expand it globally it’s also working at home to add support for more card issuers. Over the past few months, Apple has gradually increased the number of supported card issuers and now it has added support for 50 additional issuers.
If Apple wants its payment service to be a true success it needs to work on getting more big chains in the United States to sign up to support its service, aside from working on its international expansion plans.
The company recently confirmed that it’s going to bring Apple Pay to China later this year, that’s a very huge market, and one that the company has been focusing on for quite some time now. It may announce plans to expanding Apple Pay to other countries later this year.
Apple is also expected to add some new features to its payment service, including but not limited to the peer-to-peer payments, in-browser payments and much more.
The full list of card issuers that are now supported by Apple Pay is available on the company’s website, it includes several credit unions and banks based all across the United States.
