Apple is already believed to be frustrated by its inability to lock down all of the content partners that it needs to have onboard to properly launch its online TV streaming service. We’ve been hearing about Apple’s TV streaming service for well over a year now but it hasn’t materialized yet. If a new report is to be believed the Cupertino company is now looking to make its own TV shows much like Netflix, Amazon and Hulu do.
According to the report Apple has been speaking with TV studios and producers to create new TV shows that will be offered exclusively to iTunes users. It’s also said that these shows might be included in some kind of a TV offering that Apple is likely to unveil later this year in September.
If this report is to be believed it appears that Apple might launch its own TV shows through iTunes if it’s not able to launch the TV streaming service as soon as it wants to. It may eventually include its own shows as part of the TV offering when it’s locked down and opened to the public.
So far Apple has not confirmed if it’s looking to enter this market however it certainly won’t be the only one making original shows. As mentioned before, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon have all come out with their own shows and even movies. It’s a model that works and it won’t be surprising at all if Apple decides to go down this route as well.
