Now if you’re after such a device but you’re not a fan of Apple, you might be pleased to learn that Acer might have something along those lines for you. The company has recently announced the Aspire Switch 12S, its 2-in-1 notebook that will rely on an aluminum build for those who prioritize the quality of their computer’s chassis.
As you can tell from the photos, the Aspire Switch 12S is a hybrid device where it can double up as a laptop or a tablet. It features an anodized aluminum chassis that is 7.85mm thin. Acer is also relying on their Snap Hinge Gold technology, which they are promising fast data streaming between the tablet and keyboard of up to 6Gbps.
The computer will also feature a 12.5-inch 4K or Full HD display protected by Gorilla Glass 4, and under the hood users can expect to find processors under the Intel 6th Gen Core M lineup. It also supports Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, along with TrueHarmony and Dolby Audio Premium sound technology. Acer is expected to start selling the Aspire Switch 12 S in February starting at $999.99.
