lg 4k tv[CES 2016] With CRT monitors and older LCD TVs and displays, bezels and borders surrounding the display would be huge, massive even. Back then we didn’t really think too much about it but once near bezel-less designs were introduced, we have to wonder how did we live with such huge bezels back then.

For those who are shopping about for such designs, LG has announced a 27-inch monitor in the form of the LG 27UD88. This is an Ultra HD display with a 27-inch display that will also sport a 3-sided borderless design. This should give you the illusion that your display is actually larger than it really is, which is a good thing if your working table is a little constrained.

According to LG, the display will support UV Optical Processing technology which basically boosts contrast by as much as 30%. It will use IPS display technology which is capable of expressing over 99% of the sRGB color space along with 350 nits of brightness. One of the display’s unique features is its Display Dock function.

This allows users to connect the monitor to a laptop via USB Type-C that will let users create a dual display setup, facilitate laptop power charging, as well as transfer data. It also has some gaming features such as support for AMD’s FreeSync.
