Who would have thought that search would end up being such a big business? The folks over at Yahoo intends to simplify search when it comes to locating as well as launching videos across services in the vein of Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Video. How will they go about doing this? Through Yahoo Video Guide, of course. Yahoo Video Guide will hunt down the various streaming options that one subscribes to, in addition to cable TV networks such as HBO and AMC. This new app has made is debut on both Android and iOS platforms, as it targets those living in the US with the ability to search across 30 streaming and TV options.
In order to go through videos on Yahoo Video Guide, one can select from a trio of categories: Featured, Movies and Shows. Individual sections will see the app make suggestions for titles through genre and popularity, although it will only filter content available on the services that you have previously indicated that you would like to browse. Heck, a mood picker is also thrown into the mix so that the app can make a best guess as to what movie suits you best at that point in time.
See? Yahoo does more than just managing your Gmail account now.
