It has been said that the next flagship model from Xiaomi would be known as the Xiaomi Mi 5, and that particular device is certainly not short on mystery, that is for sure. Still, this has not stopped some bits and pieces of it being leaked, such as the front panel, where it is touted to sport a physical home button design that has never happened with a Xiaomi flagship before. Ah well, there is a first time for everything. Well, word on the street has it that Xiaomi will introduce NFC connectivity in the Xiaomi Mi 5, something which was missing on the Xiaomi Mi 4.
How did this bit of juicy information come about? A document released by China UnionPay mentioned it, and just in case you were wondering, UnionPay is the only domestic payment gateway supplier as well as card organization, hence this document mentioned about support for its recently released NFC-based payment system in detail. After all, there is nothing quite like having a spanking new payment system to reintroduce NFC into a flagship device, right?
All in all, we should still take this with a wee bit of salt as one can never be too sure until the official details are released for all and sundry to take a look at.
