With every expansion of World of Warcraft that Blizzard releases, they make graphical improvements to the game. Previously we saw Blizzard make some long overdue changes and upgrades to the character models and it seems that for Legion (the next upcoming expansion), one of the changes Blizzard has made is increasing the view distance.
For those who play on low-end specs, this probably won’t impact you so much. However if you have a decent or high-end rig, increasing the view distance will allow you to have a much wider view of the world. In terms of gameplay it doesn’t really have any impact, but if you do love the lore and the environments of the game, it should help make it a more immersive experience.
That being said, a recent video uploaded by BellularGaming has compared the new view distance of Legion to World of Warcraft’s previous expansion. The differences are pretty obvious with Legion’s increased view distance not only affording gamers a much wider view, but at the same time offering more details in the horizon.
For example instead of seeing mountains in the background that are only comprised of shadowy shapes, you will now be able to make out some of the detail. It’s not much, but it’s a good effort all the same. If you have some time to spare, do check it out above.
