This special edition is basically a gold version of the phone. Note that the gold is only the finish of the phone, as opposed to being gold-plated. If you wanted a gold-plated Nexus 6P you’d have to turn to third-party services for that. That being said, apart from the gold finish on the phone, it seems that there is nothing different compared to the other 3 Nexus 6P models.
It will be available in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage options and the rest of the specs of the phone are identical. For those who are unfamiliar, this means that the phone will sport a 5.7-inch QHD display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset under the hood. There will also be a 12.3MP rear-facing camera with laser autofocus, a fingerprint scanner, and more just to name a few of its features.
Like we said this is apparently an exclusive to Japan for now. No word on whether Google will bring it stateside or to other markets, but we’ll keep our eye out on its release all the same. For those who are in Japan and want to purchase the handset, it seems that it is out of stock for now but you can bookmark its page and check back later.
