According to Razer, they are describing this piece of software as being the easiest way for gamers to livestream their gaming sessions. Razer writes, “Razer Cortex: Gamecaster doesn’t require any technical knowledge to operate, making it an incredibly accessible live-streaming software designed specifically for gamers. Hotkey combinations grant instant access to core features such as broadcasting, local recording, saving a screenshot or switching on a webcam at any moment during a play session.”
The feature is baked into the Razer Cortex software and has recently entered into closed beta testing. The final release is scheduled for the 28th of January, 2016, but gamers interested in checking it out can sign up to participate in the beta (no guarantees though). There will also be two versions available, a free version that will allow 720p streaming (1080p is available but there will be a watermark), and a pro version that costs $39.95 a year or $14.95 for 3 months.
The pro version will also come with more features, naturally, so if you’re a dedicated streamer then perhaps the pro version might be worth paying more.
