It looks like Ubisoft’s tactical team-based shooter known as Rainbow Six Siege has started to receive its first update, and boy can you be sure that this update comes with its fair share of perks. For those who have indulged in Rainbow Six Siege or its beta, chances are you might have come across folks whose mission in life is to make things horrible in your team by killing their own team mates – intentionally. At the end of last month, Ubisoft did mention that they will have zero tolerance for teamkillers, and this new patch would take the bull by its horns, as it implements an auto-kick feature for betrayers in your team.
In a post on the Rainbow Six Siege forums from Ubisoft, it was mentioned that “This issue has been noticed since the Open Beta, in which we witnessed an exponential growth of griefers intentionally team killing — 1.3% of the matches were affected at the beginning, and it went as high as 7.8% at the end which is obviously unacceptable. We were glad to observe that over launch, this issue is much less present: we did experience a small growth at first, but it has now plateaued: it started at 0.9% and stabilized at 1.8%. We still believe that this is an issue and will be tracking how the new auto-kick feature will affect these statistics.”
Not only that, there is an Ultra-HD texture pack which has been introduced for those who are rocking to the game on a PC, and this will be free to boot. This is starting to shape up to be a very beautiful Christmas, don’t you think so?
