As it turns out, it seems that the Church isn’t a very big fan of the hoverboard either because they have recently suspended a priest for riding a hoverboard up and down the aisle during mass while singing a song to his congregation. This was confirmed by The Diocese of San Pablo, Laguna in a statement posted on Facebook.
According to the statement, “The Eucharist demands utmost respect and reverence. It is the Memorial of the Lord’s Sacrifice. It is the source and summit of Christian life. It is the Church’s highest form of worship. Consequently, it is not a personal celebration where one can capriciously introduce something to get the attention of the people.”
The statement adds, “He will be out of the parish and will spend some time to reflect on this past event.” It looks like the places where we are allowed to ride hoverboards just got a bit smaller. In the meantime if you’d like to see the video of the hoverboarding priest, head on over to Facebook for the video.
