Internet radio streaming service Pandora today announced the launch of a new “hyper-personalized” radio station for each listener, this particular station is called Thumbprint Radio and it’s based off of the thumbs of each user. Basically it pulls in every thumb up users have provided throughout the time they have listened on Pandora to create individual Thumbprint Radio station for all users.
Simply put, the Thumbprint Radio station is going to feature all tracks that you have given a thumb up on Pandora. It will continue to update so each time you give a track a thumb up the station will automatically “update and evolve.”
Pandora points out that it’s not just providing all of your thumbs up on shuffle. Not only does it let you discover songs you gave a thumb up from either ten minutes or ten years ago, its “musicologists” have ensured that users are seamlessly guided through their genres regardless of how varied they might be.
Sharing your Thumbprint Radio station has been made much easier, once the station has been shared it will dynamically update for friends as you thumb up more tracks across the service, meaning that there’s no need to update the playlist each time you find a song you really like.
Pandora users will be given the Thumbprint Radio station once they have at least three stations with four thumbs up on each. Naturally the more you thumb the better the station is going to get. Thumbprint Radio station is live now for all users and you can get yours here.
