A couple of days ago we reported that photos of the alleged Nikon D5 made their way online. The photos only showed us the front of the camera and if you’re looking for additional images, you’re in luck because the folks at Nikon Rumors have managed to get their hands on a ton of new images of the upcoming device.
Like we said in our previous post, for the most part it seems that the Nikon D5 won’t differ too radically in terms of design compared to its predecessor, the Nikon D4S. However based on the photos, Nikon has made some changes by moving some buttons around, presumably to make it more ergonomical and also more movement efficient for photographers who might need to access certain features quickly and conveniently.
For example on the top of the camera, Nikon has shifted the record button a little more towards one side of the shutter button. They’ve also seemingly relocated the Mode button to the right side of the camera and shifted the bracketing button down a bit. The back of the camera also appears to be more or less identical but they’ve also added some new buttons and taken out some old ones.
In terms of specs, it has been rumored that the Nikon D5 will feature a 20MP FX sensor. It will also come with a larger focusing module with 153 points of autofocus, a new native high ISO of 102,400, 15fps continuous shooting, 4K video capture, and a possible announcement in early 2016, but until we hear from Nikon be sure to take these leaks and rumors with a grain of salt.
