Netflix seems to be on a roll with its original programming. The video streaming service has released hit show after hit show and if you can’t wait to see what Netflix has up their sleeves, it seems that come 2016 you might have more shows than you bargained for. This is thanks to a recent announcement by Netflix in which they promised to double its original programming for 2016.
This was confirmed by none other than Netflix’s head of content Ted Sarandos. Come 2016, Netflix is expected to deliver 31 original new series. This is versus the 16 that the company released in 2015, so if you liked shows like House of Card, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Orange is the New Black, and so on, 2016 should be an exciting year.
Netflix also plans on releasing 10 feature films, one of which is the upcoming sequel to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, so if you’re a fan of kung-fu movies then that might be worth watching. They are also aiming to release 10 stand-up comedy specials, along with 30 children’s programs to help bolster its For Kids section.
That being said, Netflix’s availability is still relatively limited as there are still many parts of the world that aren’t able to subscribe to its platform, but the company is slowly expanding as it launched in Australia and New Zealand earlier this year, and a few months ago they also launched in Japan, and they are also expected to make their way to Spain, Italy, and Portugal.
