It looks like the upcoming flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 5, is all set to make a debut really, really soon – taking into consideration the number of leaks in which has surrounded the device to date. So far, here is another render that shows off the device, depicting a really tiny Home button in front. There is a very good reason for the super small Home button, and that is, to have it carry the fingerprint scanner within.
It is said that the NFC-capable Xiaomi Mi 5 will be toting the world’s smallest fingerprint sensor underneath the hood, not to mention it being the fastest, too. As for the remaining bit of the design, it will be close to what Xiaomi’s design DNA is like, where there is a metal frame surrounding the chassis, in addition to a 2.5D glass that is located on top of the display panel, whereas the back will have an even more curved “3D” glass.
Charging it and transfer of data can be achieved through the USB Type-C port, ensuring that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be able to keep up with the Joneses. Other rumored hardware specifications include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, a 5.2” touchscreen with 1080p or QHD resolution, a 16MP camera at the back, a 13MP selfie shooter, dual-SIM functionality, and a 3,600 mAh battery, with Android 6.0 Marshmallow in tow alongside MIUI 7.
