Microsoft has made no secret of the fact that it wants to be among the first few companies that are working on bringing augmented reality technology to the masses. We saw its HoloLens headset earlier this year and even though it’s still a work in progress, it does hold promise. It going to be a while till HoloLens has matured enough for public release but that won’t stop Microsoft from trying to create more interest in it, and that’s why it has launched a HoloLens experience showcase at its flagship retail store in New York City.
The company says that it has been “energized” by the response it has received so far to the HoloLens Development Edition and it already has a long list of developers that are hoping to get some hands-on time with the augmented reality headset.
It’s because of this overwhelming response that it’s opening the first ongoing HoloLens experience showcase for developers at the flagship store in New York City. Developers who have been waiting to try the headset can get to experience it at the store, developers can request an appointment by clicking here.
Microsoft has created a dedicated space at the store which will provide developers the opportunity to experience HoloLens and get started on creating new experiences for it. The company hasn’t said as yet if it’ll allow non-developers to test the HoloLens at this store, perhaps that might be allowed at a later date.
