A couple of months ago, Microsoft announced the Lumia 550. This handset obviously does not pack the same hardware unlike the Lumia 950 or 950 XL, but it is an affordable Windows 10 Mobile handset for those who are looking to try the platform, or for those who just needs an affordable smartphone.
Now if you’re wondering when the phone will arrive stateside, Microsoft has posted on its Windows Blog that the Lumia 550 has officially arrived in the US where customers will be able to pick it up for themselves at a very affordable price of $139. Given how popular older Lumia 5-series were, like the Lumia 520, hopefully the Lumia 550 will be able to carry on that tradition.
As for its specs just in case you forgot, the Lumia 550 will pack a 4.7-inch HD display with a total pixel density of 315 PPI. Under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset can be found with quad-cores clocked at 1.1GHz. We know it’s hardly a speed demon but it should be good enough to get the job done.
It will also come with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage, a 5MP rear-facing camera with 720p @ 30fps video capture, a 2MP front-facing camera, a removable 2,100mAh battery, and it will come with Windows 10 Mobile on board.
