LG G5 is one of the devices that people are most looking forward to coming next year and if rumors about this handset are believed then LG might be launching a unique flagship in the coming year. Word on the street is that not only is the LG G5 going to have a secondary ticker display not unlike the one you find on the LG V10, but it’s also going to have a “Magic Slot” expansion port for adding hardware modules.
Previous reports have suggested that the G5 is going to feature a slightly smaller 5.3 inch Quad HD display, the reduction in size may be because of the need to make room for the secondary display, and the handset may borrow yet another feature of the V10.
It’s said that the LG G5 is going to feature two cameras on the back which will allow users to take pictures with very wide angles, useful for getting the entire group in the picture, or capturing a breathtaking scene behind the subject. The V10 has that configuration up front.
The 2015 flagship had a 3000mAh battery, LG is expected to go with a slightly smaller 2800mAh battery for the G5 though the Snapdragon 820 processor should be efficient enough to cover the difference.
There’s not much detail as yet on what this Magic Slot might be used for, there are whispers that it may be used for adding more components such as a 360-degree camera or specialized lenses, we’ll have to wait for more information on this though to be sure of what it’s really going to be there for.
