Kojima

It was first reported a couple of months back that Hideo Kojima and Konami had parted their ways but at that time the company said that Kojima and the MGS5 team had only taken an “extended vacation.” Additional reports suggested that the matter would clear up come December when his non-compete with Konami ends. Sure enough a few days back Kojima confirmed that he has set up a new studio and has teamed up with Sony for a new title. If you are interested in finding out the story behind his departure from Konami then it’s better that you don’t get your hopes up.

The New Yorker claims in a new report that Hideo Kojima is “contractually forbidden” from talking about his exit, it goes without saying that people have questions about it, considering the fact that he spent almost three decades with the Japanese publisher.

If this is true it means that Kojima can not divulge any details about what went down at Konami that ended up with him leaving a publisher that he had been with for almost three decades, and with the relationship being a mutually beneficial one.

All that is behind him now though with him confirming the launch of a new gaming studio, the studio is going to work on a new title which will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 but will also be released for PC. The project doesn’t even have a name right now let alone a release date, so it goes without saying that we will have to wait for a considerable time before we find out what Kojima’s next title is.
