Kim Dotcom Will Appeal US Extradition Ruling

kimdotcom-partyWho hasn’t heard of Kim Dotcom before? The man who has made his millions in the Information Technology era has always been making waves in news headlines, having claimed to save Christmas last year, at the same time rolling out a new storage service known as “Mega” after Megaupload was no more, or even teasing a Baboom music service. Well, the latest bit on Kim Dotcom is this – he has just lost his US extradition hearing in a court in New Zealand, which means he can eventually face trial concerning massive copyright infringements that has been rumored to cost music and movie companies alike a pretty penny – to the tune of $500 million thereabouts.

Kim Dotcom was not the only one mentioned in the hearing, as Mathias Ortmann, Bram van der Kolk, and Finn Batato are the other three defendants who can be extradited to the US in order to face charges which could comprise of racketeering, money laundering and copyright infringement.

Dotcom was no doubt disappointed with the result of the hearing, and it has been reliably reported by Bloomberg that Dotcom will appeal the ruling some time early next year, although if the appeal fails, then things will start to look rather bleak in 2016 and beyond.
